Dear Family and Friends,
This week has been pretty good. 2 Holidays in one week! haha. Canada Day was wednesday and then we celebrated the 4th of July as well :) It was pretty neat, because the fireworks on Canada Day were past our bedtime haha but, we could see them from our bedroom window! So we sat in bed and watched them :) It was pretty neat :) We had a barbeque and baseball on the 4th so that was fun too :) I am slowly but surely getting a little better at baseball. haha.
This week we met our new mission president, which was interesting. I'm sure he is great, it will just take some getting used to. Change is hard for me.
We helped a lot of people move this week and last week. 4 families in total, 2 of which were prepared and 2 of which were NOT. But we survived :) and hopefully everyone is done moving for a while. Cross our fingers, knock on wood. haha. It anyone else moves, our ward will become a branch! haha
We didn't get to see much of our investigators this week. Seems like everyone was sick this week or we just couldn't get hold of them. But there is always next week :)
Well, not much else is new. My companion Sister Bersie is great. She is learning fast and is already a great missionary. And she puts up with my craziness ;) haha.
Well, I love you all. Hope you are all happy and well, I pray for you all every night :)
Lots of Love,

This blog is for Sister Maddy Martin. She's a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and she's my daughter. My wife and I and my other four children will keep this blog up so friends and family will be able to follow our oldest on her greatest adventure yet. 18 Months in the Canada Winnipeg Mission - Home of the Frozen Chosen!

Dear Family and Friends,
Well, this week has been a little crazy. We started the week with Zone Conference on Tuesday. That was really fun. It was nice to visit with all my missionary friends here in Saskatchewan. Sometimes we feel a little isolated out here in Moose Jaw with only the Elders and us. Especially coming from Winnipeg with a million missionaries. So it was nice to be with everyone again for a little bit. It was pretty long though. Meetings all day. And we had to role play, which I hate. But I am starting to get over it and just grin and bear it till it's over haha. The food was good though :) Pulled pork sandwiches.
Then we came back here to Moose Jaw and continued with our work. On Saturday we got our Transfer calls. So Sister Reyes will be leaving me and going to Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, which is kinda sad. It is always hard starting over again. But I also found out that I will be training a brand new sister. She is still in the MTC this very moment. haha. So that should be exciting. Kinda scary, but oh well I guess. Live and learn and figure it out along the way. Haha.
We have a baptism scheduled in a few weeks and we're really working hard and praying for it to go through. And we're hoping to set another one this week. We haven't found many new people to teach, but we are trying. So we will see what happens next week. I am doing well, and I am happy. Life out here on the mission is hard, but I am surviving and finding happiness along the way. Time seems to fly by some days. I am 4 and a half months down with 13 and a half to go. Not that I'm counting down the days or anything ;) I promise, I am being good and trying to stay focused on what the Lord wants me here to do. :)
I hope you are all happy and well.
Love,

This is my buddy Elder Malin. We were in the MTC together, he was one of my best friends in the MTC. This is the first time we have crossed paths since we have been out here in the field. It was super fun to see him at Zone Conference
Driving around Moose Jaw!
This is the sign in front of our church building :) I though it would be a cute picture spot :)
This was in the big van on our way to Zone Conference. Right behind me is my friend Elder Griffith. He was my District Leader in Winnipeg. It was us and a million Elders all piled in there. haha

Sister Reyes and I at the Laundromat/ice cream parlor haha with Alyssa, a recent convert
This was us, Sister Reyes and I, in the car wash :) I love the car wash when you don't have to do it yourself haha
This is Saskatchewan. FLAT. But pretty.
This is Sister Reyes and I. The sunset was so pretty so we stopped and took pics :) this was a tough day, but at least the sunset was pretty and my outfit was cute haha
This is me emailing you rightnow hahaha
Last week we didn't have time or money to dry our laundry at the laundromat so we had to run home with our wet laundry and throw it ALL OVER THE HOUSE to dry hahahaha in like 2 mins. It was crazy. But it all dried and we even saved a little change. haha.
I love this guy :) It is helping us win the hearts of the members and some of the people we are teaching.
I felt pretty today :)
So we have been taking cookies to families in the ward and singing to them with the uke :) We have rearranged i am a child of god, nearer my god to thee, joseph smiths first prayers, come follow me, and were working on amazing grace. So we have been including songs in a lot of our lessons and picking a song to sing when we take the cookies :) I think it is working :) i recorded us singing i am a child of god but i cant figure out how to send it to you because it is too big...
So there are sooooo many dandelions in the church lawn :) It is cute and soon there will be so many wish flowers :)
This was when we went ice blocking for the YSA activity. There was one YSA person there and then us and the elders... haha small town.

Dear Family and Friends,
Sorry it has been a while! Things here in Moose Jaw have been going well. The area is making progress slowly but surely. It is still slow, but it's moving along. We have even been able to find some new investigators :)
This week we have really been focusing on gaining the trust of the members and developing relationships with them. So we have been stopping by and bringing cookies to some of the families and singing to them. Sister Reyes and I have been working on some hymns and primary songs on the ukulele that we could incorporate into our lessons. So we have been testing them out on the members. They seem to like it, and Sister Reye's famous cookies ;) She calls them heaven cookies. hahaha. I'd say it's close.
So we have been happy, it is starting to look like summer around here. And we are running out of our allotted kilometers so we are going to have to start walking everywhere. Thank goodness it is starting to warm up, but now we are going to be too hot! haha But such is life and we will grin and bear it :)
Well I hope you are all happy and well.
Love you lots,
xoxo
